A designated Safety Manager

Your Health & Safety Manager will ensure they are fully familiar with your business and its specific challenges.  You will have the direct dial and email for your Safety Manager. And if they are out of the office, any ongoing issues will be passed to an equally qualified colleague, so you don't have to wait for a response.

24/7/365 advice from the wider safety team

You and your team will have access to the full safety team through a direct advice line number meaning that, even in the absence of your designated Health & Safety Manager, you will be able to access advice at any time.  Our Safety Managers work collaboratively, giving you practical advice, guidance and support on all aspects of safety management.
Online Client Area An online library of template documents, risk assessments and guidance on a wide range of health & safety topics.  This can be used to develop your own health & safety management system. 
Free and Discounted Seminars and Training Clients are guaranteed 2 free places at our regional safety update seminars.  These sessions explore the practical impacts of developments in safety legislation and court actions as well as alerting you to issues on the horizon.  LAW clients are entitled to substantial discount on all our in-house and public seminars.
Safety Pulse We scan the horizon so you don't have to. We'll proactively alert you to any changes in safety legislation or enforcement actions, and offer practical advice on the impact for your business.
Competent Person Your named, highly qualified and experienced, LAW Health and Safety Manager will act as your legally required Competent Person.
Enforcement Liaison In the event of enforcement action from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or the Local Authority Environmental Health or the Fire and Rescue Services we will support you.  We will provide advice and can liaise on your behalf to minimise the impact on your business.  This includes responding to Fee For Intervention (FFI), improvement or prohibition notices of impending prosecution.

Health & Safety Policy Design

Preparation of a bespoke health & safety policy for your business. We'll ensure it reflects your organisation, your responsibilities and arrangements, and that it's written in a style which makes everyone's expectations clear.
Health & Safety Documentation Review A detailed examination of your health & safety procedures including, but not limited to, your health and safety policy, responsibilities and arrangements, records of training, risk assessments, contractor assessments; safe systems of work and maintenance records. Usually delivered at your premises or can be completed remotely. A succinct report will be provided, covering significant findings and practical suggestions for improvement. 
Hands-on Risk Assessments

Where required, we will complete the risk assessments with your staff to ensure compliance in this important area.

Physical Safety Assessment

Your LAW Health and Safety Manager will carry out an in-depth tour of business operations at your sites, considering the hazards and risks of the activities taking place on site, as well as the physical premises themselves.  The comprehensive follow up report will cover all safety-related regulations, and will act as a detailed risk assessment.  A clear risk management action plan is provided, with recommended timescales for implementation. 

Committee and Board Meeting Attendance & Input We can offer supporting ranging from input into the safety agenda and/or management action plans, to attending relevant committee and board meetings.
Safety Coaching & Mentoring One of our highly qualified and experienced safety managers will provide hands-on support to develop your in-house team.  Support can include creating systems, completing risk assessments and other coaching and guidance, with a view to your team becoming self-sufficient.
Contractor Approval Where you employ contractors within your organisation, we will examine and approve their adherence to policies and procedures, and their competence.
Fire Risk Assessment

We will undertake a comprehensive examination of the fire safety precautions at your premises, and develop a robust fire risk assessment with clear recommendations for compliance with either the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006.

Board Level Safety Review
This high level safety review has proven beneficial to executive teams, providing confidence that your policies are being implemented on the ground. It is suitable where a high level of in-house competence appears to be in place, but the executive team need reassurance that the business is genuinely fulfilling its safety obligations.  The report recognises achievements, as well as areas requiring improvement, and provides recommendations to be set as future objectives.
Water Hygiene Management LAW can conduct Legionella Risk Assessments; Landlord Risk Assessments; Water System Cleaning & Disinfection; Water Sampling & Testing; Tank Inspections; Tank Installation & Refurbishment; Chemical Dosing Systems and Water Efficiency Audits/High Consumption Investigations.
Asbestos Management Asbestos is the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in the UK.  LAW can provide accredited services by a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) for testing and inspection to ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17025 and UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017.  We can also provide asbestos surveys so that an Asbestos Register can be compiled; write the asbestos management plan that describes how it will be managed; advise on remediation and deliver Asbestos Removal Project Management services.

ISO & Quality

Surveillance Audits will be conducted annually, and no later than 12 months after the previous Audit. Surveillance Audits will cover aspects of the Management System, at the discretion of the nominated auditor.  We will provide a comprehensive follow up report, identifying any areas requiring Corrective Actions.  Found out more here.
