Employment Law

Employment Law & HR Training

We can attend your workplace and deliver personal, bespoke training for your team on the employment law, HR and management issues that matter most to you. We have extensive experience in working with businesses of all shapes and sizes, so we’re confident we can get under the skin of your organisation and deliver training solutions that work for you. We’ll work with you to understand your needs and tailor a training course that targets your HR headaches and incorporates your values, policies and procedures.

While your trainer will be suitably qualified, we don't just quote the law or the theory.  We go beyond that to change behaviours and attitudes.  And we pride ourselves on making training fun. Your team will leave our training sessions feeling positive and confident about managing employee issues.

Format

All of our workshops are interactive and incorporate exercises and group work such as discussion, quizzes, case studies and role play. We always aim to ensure that our training is informal and engaging with plenty of discussion.

We recommend a maximum of 15 delegates per workshop in order to encourage participation and to make group work practical. Our “lecture” style sessions can accommodate larger groups.

Delegates receive high quality, comprehensive course materials to take away; essential for when it comes to putting learning into practice.

Engaging us to deliver training

Our training is charged by the half-day/full-day (with clients receiving discounted rates). Beyond that we offer complete flexibility when it comes to meeting your training needs. Some organisations engage us to deliver a one-off half-day course for their manager group; other organisations ask us to do a management training programme for their managers which might involve three days of training either together or separately or a half-day of training every two months. But these really are just examples; for most clients the structure of the training is driven by logistical factors.

Because some clients understandably don’t know where to begin we have a couple of “off-the-shelf” management training programmes:

Our two-day Employment Law Basics Bootcamp covers:

·         The principles that underpin the employment relationship

·         Contracts of employment

·         The law of unfair dismissal

·         Dealing with conduct issues and disciplinary matters

·         Equality and discrimination framework

·         Family friendly rights

·         Dealing with grievances

·         Managing performance

·         Managing absence

Our two-day Management Skills Bootcamp covers:

·         Recognising management styles, personality traits, behaviours, motivators and de-motivators

·         Achieving effective communication through adapting management style

·         Techniques for enhancing motivation

·         Getting the most out of delegation

·         Techniques for having difficult conversations

·         Communication skills

·         Resolving conflict at work

Again these are just examples and we can work with you to create a bespoke management training programme that covers your priority areas. Unless we are developing a new course for you or substantially tailoring our standard materials there are no additional preparation fees for you to pay.

Whilst most clients prefer for us to come to their premises, we can also host training within most of our offices for no extra charge (although providing lunch would cost extra).
