A landfill company were prosecuted after a worker had both legs amputated. The Court heard how the worker was walking across the yard at the Bryn Posteg Landfill site in Llanidloes, when he was hit by a large shovel loader truck.

An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) found the company did not have any controls in place.

Sundorne Products (Llanidloes) Limited plead guilty to breaching Section 2 and Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work (1974) Act and were fined £180,000 and ordered to pay costs of £7,657.10.
