Thumbs up for “no-nonsense” management

Everyone has niggles about work they would like sorted out, but some employees treat complaining like an Olympic sport! A strong contender for Gold, is the Canadian worker who made 17 complaints to her bosses, including demands for "a little more relaxed atmosphere in the office", a "comfortable, even temperature in the office" and a change to “funereal” company uniforms.

When her demands weren’t met, she flounced out, and took her employers to court claiming constructive dismissal.

Unsurprisingly, her claim received short shrift from the Ontario employment courts and her case was swiftly thrown out. The Judge said the nature of her job involved some stressful elements but her employers had not treated her badly, even though her boss had what could be described as a “no nonsense” management style.
