A new and young worker at an industrial equipment supplier in Newcastle sustained head injuries and a fractured pelvis after a heavy panel being unloaded from a lorry fell over and landed on him.

The court found a lack of a suitable and sufficient risk assessment plus a lack of training and supervision all contributed to the accident.

Taking into account the fine and court costs the company had to pay a total of £100k.
