If anyone needs further reasons to use maintain good hygiene during this pandemic: there were some interesting scientific results published this month from Clinical Infectious Diseases, the peer-reviewed medical journal by Oxford University Press.
COVID-19 was recorded as surviving for up to 9 hours on human skin, compared to the influenza A virus surviving for up to 2 hours.
Both COVID-19 and influenza A virus on human skin were completely inactivated within 15 seconds by ethanol/alcohol treatment.
The 9-hour survival of COVID-19 on human skin no doubt increases the risk of contact transmission.
