HSE continues to carry out COVID secure checks

HSE continues to carry out COVID secure checks especially in Swindon and Greater Manchester. After rises in workplace Covid-19 outbreaks in both towns, the government has moved both locations on to its coronavirus watch-list.

HSE Inspectors will be contacting and potentially visit businesses to ensure that they are COVID compliant. The expectation is that employers make suitable adjustments to manage the risk and protect workers and others from coronavirus.

It is recommended that they follow these five practical steps:

Step 1. carry out a COVID-19 risk assessment

Step 2. develop increased cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures

Step 3. take all reasonable steps to help people work from home

Step 4. maintain 2m social distancing where possible

Step 5. where people cannot be 2m apart, manage transmission risk.

LAW has been assisting our clients by visiting their premises to advise on the measures needed to address the above, including the formulation of the specific workplace risk assessment for COVID 19.

Please do get in contact if you have any questions or queries about returning to the workplace and  a COVID-19 risk assessment.
