LAW MASTERCLASS on managing stress in the workplace

3 October 2017 — 10:00 to 16:00
Employment Law & HR
Stress. It’s a word managers come across a lot these days. It can crop up in tense conversations between employees and line managers during one-to-ones and appraisals. It appears on fit notes as a reason for an absence, sometimes “work-related”, sometimes personal. It can sneak into health and safety workplace assessments, taking managers by surprise. And it can tumble out of tearful employees during welfare meetings. But what does it really mean and how can employers deal effectively with workplace stress?

There is no doubt that dealing with stress at work is one of the biggest challenges faced by employers. Indeed a 2016 CIPD survey found that stress has become the number one reason for long term sickness absence among workers.

When it comes to the effective management of stress at work a black and white approach just doesn’t work. Our Masterclass represents an invaluable opportunity to gain an insight from lawyers, HR professionals, health and safety consultants and occupational health professionals. The learning will not just be theoretical – you’ll be guided through case studies and leave with armed with plenty of practical tips for managing individual and organisational stress at work.
