As a leading legal services provider specialising in employment law, human resources and health & safety, Law At Work is looking for Trainee Employment Solicitors to join our Employment Law Team. The position will be based in one of our Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen offices, with occasional travel between the offices being a requirement of the role. Working with a diverse range of clients of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK, your role as Trainee Employment Solicitor will be to advise and represent our clients dealing with anything from straightforward queries to very complex, high-value employment law issues.  The role involves a high degree of autonomy and client contact. You will also have the opportunity to represent clients at employment tribunal hearings throughout the UK.  There will be the opportunity for the successful candidate(s) to undertake a summer work placement at LAW to get a feel for the type of work we do prior to official commencement of the training contract.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the various aspects of employment law and will have achieved at least a 2:1 LLB Honours degree (or equivalent). The candidate will also have successfully completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice by September 2020. The candidate should have undertaken some legal work experience: employment law experience is desirable but not essential. Consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to absorb information and keep up to date with legal developments
  • Ability to impart information to clients in a clear and concise manner avoiding legal jargon
  • Focused on quality and attention to detail in all areas of responsibility
  • Excellent judgement and problem solving qualities
  • Well-developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent work planning, organising and management skills

HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

Job Title:                              Health & Safety Manager

Location:                              Various  (ideally located in the Aberdeen area)

Start Date:                           Autumn 2019

 

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of a range of workplace safety and fire assessment/prevention services to a wide range of client businesses of all sizes, sectors and with varying risk profiles and in doing so generate excellent client feedback so that LAW remains competitive in the market.

The post-holder is also required to contribute to Business Development via identifying opportunities for additional income and to training by developing and delivering programmes to clients and prospects.
