Our board Law At Work is directed by a highly experienced Board whose skills combine to manage and develop the company's high potential. The Board includes: Magnus Swanson Chairman Magnus is the former Chief Executive of Maclay Murray & Spens LLP. Before that he had an impressive track record in leverage mergers and acquisitions - particularly MBO and institutional buy-outs. He has served on the Board of Law at Work since the company was established and has encouraged its rapid growth. Jane Wright Chief Executive Jane is a highly experienced leader with an outstanding record in sales and marketing across different industries. She began her working life in the public sector, and then spent more than 20 years in the phamaceutical and drinks industries. This entailed holding a variety of senior roles in both GlaxoSmithKline and Diageo. Throughout her career, Jane has had significant interest in and experience of employment related matters. In May 2010, after many years of regular commuting to London, Jane was delighted to take up the role of Chief Executive with Law at Work. She is passionate about delivering high quality services and building strong client relationships Donald MacKinnon Director of Legal Services Donald’s 15 year career in the law has seen him advising on crofting law in the Highlands, and working for variously a community law centre, a bank and one of Scotland’s largest commercial law firms. Since 2001, Donald has headed up Law at Work's team of employment lawyers. Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland from 2005 as a specialist in employment law, Donald has vast experience in all areas of employment practice. He ensures that the team is fully up to speed with the latest developments and that clients receive the very highest levels of service. Donald continues to appear regularly before employment tribunals and the EAT. He assists both public and private clients in all areas of employment law including large scale reorganisations and TUPE transfers. Steve Briggs Operations Director Steve has been involved with employment law since the late 1970s, and has worked in advisory, representation and teaching roles in the public, private, and voluntary sectors. Steve inadvertently ended up working in the media between 1988 and 1993, specialising in education, politics, and the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe. He claims no responsibility for the demise of Communism. He continues to write and broadcast on employment law. In 1993 he set up an employment law advice project in central Scotland, before moving in 1996 to help launch the employment law wing of a business advisory service run by a major financial services organisation. In 2001 he joined Law At Work as Operations Director. Steve remains involved in advising clients. Doris Littlejohn Non-executive Director Doris Littlejohn, CBE JP BL D.Univ (Stirling) practised as a solicitor before becoming the UK’s first female Industrial Tribunal Chairman in 1976. Between 1991 and her retirement in 2000 Doris was President of the Industrial Tribunals (Scotland). Since retiring she has been a member of the Leggatt Committee set up by the Lord Chancellor to review the UK tribunal system. She is a former Chairman of the Court of the University of Stirling, and a former Chairman of the Forth Valley Primary Health Care Trust.
