Dismissal - make it legal and fair
Unfair dismissal claims still hold the number one spot for types of employment tribunal claims. Many of these claims could have been avoided by effective management of the dismissal process, and the government are currently consulting introducing financial penalties for employers who breach the employment rights of their employees – over and above the compensation awarded to the sacked employees.
So getting dismissals right – while remaining complaint with the law and best practice - makes business and financial sense. There’s nothing more galling than catching a seriously delinquent employee red-handed and sacking them – only to end up paying compensation for a simple procedural fault which could have been avoided through robust management practice and defensible processes.
This seminar will focus on precisely how to investigate and resolve conduct and performance problems, lawfully and effectively. We’ll explain what the courts expect from management in these situations and help you ensure that dismissed employees will have no basis for starting tribunal action.
But some ex-employees will take you to a tribunal regardless, and we’ll give you the tools to ensure that you win in court.
