The Board

Law at Work is directed by a highly experienced Board whose skills combine to manage and develop the company's full potential. The Board includes:
 

Scott Henderson (Chief Executive)

Scott joined the Board as Chief Executive in May 2008. He is responsible for direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organisation's philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.

Steve Briggs (Operations Director)

Steve Briggs first involvement with employment law was in the late 1970s, and since then he has worked in advisory, representation and teaching roles in the public, private, and voluntary sectors.

Malcolm Mackay (Non-Executive Director)

Malcolm has more than 30 years experience at the leading edge of employment law in the UK, and has been involved in many leading employment law cases, including cases argued at the House of Lords and the European Court of Justice.

Magnus Swanson (Non-Executive Director)

Magnus is Chief Executive of Maclay Murray & Spens and ranks as one of Scotland’s top corporate lawyers.

Doris Littlejohn (Non-Executive Director)

Doris Littlejohn, CBE JP BL D.Univ (Stirling), practised as a solicitor before becoming the UK’s first female Industrial Tribunal Chairman in 1976.

Gareth McKnight (Director of Business Development)

Gareth McKnight’s best career move was joining Law At Work.

Donald MacKinnon (Director of Legal Services)

Since 1997, solicitor Donald MacKinnon has specialised in employment law, an area he firmly believes has a major contribution to make to business life.

Future Legislative Changes

Following the rise in minimum statutory holiday entitlement to 24 days for full-time workers in October 2007, a further rise to 28 days is scheduled to come into effect in April 2009.
