RESTRUCTURING AND REDUNDANCY HANDLING

To help businesses meet the challenges of the economic downturn Law At Work has created a support package designed to enable companies to act quickly, safely, and effectively.

The speed with which the UK has slid into an economic downturn has left many businesses stunned. The combination of the squeeze on credit, and shrinking consumer and business markets has led thousands of organisations to look at ways in which costs can be reduced. The most obvious target is the cost of people whose work is no longer required.

To help businesses implement legally secure and effective staff re-organisations and, where unavoidable, redundancies, Law At Work has created a Redundancy and Restructuring package.

The package includes:

1 Time on site with senior management preparing a restructuring/redundancy plan;
2 Creation or modification of the business's Redundancy Policy and Procedures:
3 Training for all relevant managers in individual and, where necessary, collective consultation requirements;
4 Preparation of Redundancy Staff Pools;
5 Finalisation of Redundancy Selection Criteria
5 Provision of tailored Selection Criteria score sheets;
6 Preparation of all necessary standard letters to affected staff;
7 Training for Employee Representatives in their rights and responsibilities (only applies to collective redundancies);
8 Attendance where necessary at collective redundancy consultation meetings;
9 Attendance if necessary at individual consultation meetings;
10 Round the clock support from our specialist legal team for the duration of the exercise.

The Cost

The cost of the package will depend on each company's individual requirements. In keeping with our normal approach the pricing is highly competitive, agreed in advance, and designed to provide value for money.
